FW Climate Safe Neighborhood Coalition

In collaboration with community members, students, academic scholars, and practice partners, we aim to advance park equity while supporting climate health. Our next meeting is the Glenwood Park Master Plan Public Input Session on Thursday, May 16, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, in Shamblee Library (more details below).

In May 2022, community partners formed the Fort Worth Climate Safe Neighborhood Coalition, whose strategic goal is to increase equitable access to safe, sustainable green space and to advance tree equity and extend environmental knowledge throughout Fort Worth.

About Glenwood Park

Glenwood Park is a historic 37-acre park in southeast Fort Worth, less than 6 miles from TCU campus. We’ve hosted several events, which have included health promotion activities, clean-up, and also a bioblitz where we took inventory of all of the natural resources inside the park! See our News tab for more details and to see what we’ve accomplished together with community volunteers.

Join coalition partners as we develop the master plan for Glenwood Park with the Southside community and park users. Long-term, this work could be included in a bond package for approval by the City and voters. On Thursday, May 16, please come to the Glenwood Park Master Plan Public Input Session, to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in Shamblee Library, located at 1062 Evans Avenue, Fort Worth, 76104. At this meeting, you can share your ideas and opinions. The contracted landscape architects through Land Design will take your ideas and bring them to life! The follow-up public meeting with a mock-up park design will follow this fall!
